The differentiated interplay of dance, space and light characterizes Stephan Herwig's choreographies - for his new work supplemented and enriched by an object in the middle of the stage (designed and realized by Mirella Oestreicher). This creates an additional level that changes perception, blurs contours and shifts relationships. The dance oscillates in a dense web of different fields and moods: between real and surreal, concrete and blurry, sharp and blurred, to brittle and sensual. With “In Fields” Stephan Herwig’s interest in formal composition is manifested, the specific beauty of which arises from the individuality of the dancers.
